4000 + 4000 euro NOODHULP PALESTINA

In Februari 2024 hebben we 4.000 euro overgemaakt aan onze Palestijnse partner Logica. 
 
Dat is ongeveer de jaarlijkse bijdrage die we schenken voor het expressieproject in Tulkarem, Jenin en Nablus. Echter, in mei 2024 was dit bedrag reeds op. Niet aan expressieprojecten, maar aan Noodhulp. De oorlog in Palestina kent zijn weerslag... scholen zijn gesloten, sluipschutters op de daken, dodelijke gevolgen voor kleine en grote burgers, bulldozers die straten opbreken en mensen zonder werk en geld.

We schoten in actie om meerdere gelden te verzamelen, en vonden deze bij de subsidie voor Noodhulp van de Stad Halle, de Serviceclub Zonta en onze eigen wOnderBAar. 

In juli 2024 zijn we fier een volgende schijf van 4.000 euro te kunnen overmaken, om de Noodhulp in Palestina een tandje bij te steken.

URGENT INTERVENTION PROGRAM PALESTINE

 LOGICA Community Centre /Tulkarm/ West Bank

Amidst despair and devastation, we have developed the Urgent Intervention Programme in response to the needs of the people. We reached more than 4000 people. 

The impact continues to be devastating, with sanitation systems uprooted, electricity and water supplies destroyed and villages isolated into military zones, leading to severe food and cash shortages.

At the time of writing, Logica has established a network of grassroots community leaders consisting of 19 coordinators across the West Bank. These coordinators have a wide range of skills to help support families affected by ongoing military practices.

Our current activities focus on Tulkarem, Jenin, and Nablus. In this profound crisis, we recognise the suffering of the people. The least we can do is to provide care and basic support for the survival of many children and women. And support the grassroots coordinators who are working in very risky conditions in these dark times. We provide support on different levels based on the needs of the affected neighbourhoods focusing on: 

• Sessions with children and mothers: Using art and sport as tools to reduce anxiety and stress. We reached more than 2000 people.
• Sustenance: We provide basic needs for families, focusing on children, orphans and the disabled ( Milk and diapers). 
• We give a small amount of cash monthly to 60-70  families focusing on widowed women with 4-5 children. 
• Training: we conduct continuous training for different target groups to equip them to deal with the urgency in their areas. 
• Workshops and regular meetings: we conduct regular training for our coordinating team to empower them,  update working plans and set up priorities. 
• We provide materials, cash and professional consulting to support food businesses in isolated villages to ensure the continuity of food production. 

Our intervention programme is designed to provide support and remain active on the ground. When security and peace are finally achieved, our team and coordinators restlessly prepare to play a fundamental role in strengthening social cohesion and rehabilitating children, women and youth to reach 10,000 persons. 

Wonderwise contribution was spent as follows: We received (15,555 NIS)

Sessions with children and women: (sports club/ community centres contribution and rent): 200 euro

Sessions with children and women: (art materials, small refreshments, print out some exercises of expression book): 1600 euro

Sustenance (milk, diapers, medicine, clothes): 800 euro

Transportations and communication: 300 euro

Incentives to coordinators: 600 euro

First Aid materials: 400 euro

The LOGICA Community Centre was established in Palestine in 2012. Since then, we have implemented several programmes in the West Bank aimed at empowering Palestinian communities on social, economic and environmental levels. We feel responsible for fulfilling our commitment to women and children's urgent and desperate needs.

Schenking Zonta Halle-Pajottenland voor wOnderWise

Naar goede gewoonte ging de tweejaarlijkse bestuurswissel van Zonta Halle-Pajottenland gepaard met schenkingen aan allerhande sociale projecten die op één of andere manier bijdragen aan het verzekeren van de mensenrechten en fundamentele vrijheden voor vrouwen.

In totaal werd er over de periode van 2022-2024 10.000,00 € geschonken aan FriS, Wonderwise, Boven de Wolken, Memisa, de Borstunit van het AZ Sint-Maria, Into My Arms, de inzamelingsactie van Gerleen ten voordele van het onderzoek aan de VUB naar immunotherapie bij hersentumoren, Levenslust, De Warmste Week 2022, Think Pink en Pakje van het hart van Joe FM. Ook de Zonta Foundation en de Zonta Says No-campagne werden ondersteund.

De serviceclub uit Halle-Pajottenland zamelde dit bedrag bij elkaar door hun jaarlijkse zalmverkoop, twee edities van hun Spring Apero Event en de filmvoorstelling van Everything will be fine. Op 5 oktober hernemen zij na een onderbreking van 4 jaar de traditie van hun kaas- en wijnavond in de eetzaal van het Heilig-Hart te Halle om de komende twee jaar opnieuw mooie initiatieven te kunnen ondersteunen.

CRISIS - OORLOG - Expressie-project Palestina nu meer dan ooit nood aan steun... !

20 okt. 2023 WONDERWISE vzw is een vaste parter van LOGICA COMMUNITY CENTER TULKAREM in Palestina.

Zij maken het wOnderWise-expressieproject sinds 2018 in 10-talle scholen op de Westbank waar.

Niet alleen Gaza, maar ook in de Westbank vinden brutale invallen plaats met scherpschutters en suicide-drones. De laatste dagen vonden reeds 10-talle burgers, waaronder ook verschillende kinderen, de dood in Tulkarem.

Het programma van Logica, dat reeds in Jenin, Tulkarem en Ramallah plaatsvindt, heeft uitbreiding nodig nu de trauma's nog meer dan ooit de pan uit rijzen; ze doelen op 12.000 kinderen.

In 2023 kon wOnderWise vzw haar expressieproject in Palestina reeds 5000 euro overmaken door o.a. fondsenwerving via de wOnderDeTafel van 18 juni. Maar er is meer nodig.... ! Steun de traumeverwerking, en hierdoor ook de toekomst van deze kinderen via WONDERWISE VZW - BE39 97313476 0619 (Argenta)

Since January 2023 we reached up to 200 students so far. 

We work in schools of Jenin, Ramallah and Tulkarem.
We organize also sessions at the logica center. 

Some schools we work with are the 
Zaita School, Faroun school, Bnatmohsen school
and other schools in the refugee camps.

JAWAD, TEACHER OF EXPRESSIONBOOK-PROGRAMM KILLED

Jawad was a teacher we trained in Amman at 2018. He took part in the expression-book programm. He was today killed by a sniper while he was helping a person who was injured in front of his house. A large Israeli force raided the Jenin refugee camp to arrest activists and deployed snipers on rooftops during which heavy exchange of gunfire was reported.

Palestine, (Imemc & Wafa news agency) - January 19, 2023:

Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in a raid on Jenin refugee camp,
occupied West Bank on Thursday at dawn.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that the soldiers killed a physical education teacher and a married father of six children, Jawad Farid Hussein Bawaqna, 58, after shooting him in the head, and former political prisoner, Adham Mohammad Bassem Jabarin, 26, both from Jenin refugee camp.

According to eye witnesses Israeli soldiers also stopped Palestinian ambulances and prevented the medics from entering the refugee camp, forcing the residents to transport Jawad and Adham to the Ibn Sina Hospital in private cars, but they succumbed to their wounds.

The soldiers also attacked Palestinian protesters with live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers injured several Palestinians, including three who were shot with live fire to the abdomen, thigh, and shoulder, suffering moderate-but-stable wounds.

The Palestinian shot in the abdomen was rushed to surgery after a soldier shot him with an expanding bullet, causing multi-organ damage.
